Tracks for Palm OS?

Post by vr6gtispeed »

Are there user defined tracks for the Palm OS Lap Timer software? Is there a way to create the tracks with Google Earth for the Palm OS software?

Thanks

Hi,

You can add triggers to the PalmOS version using the Excel file provided on the PalmOS page on www.gps-laptimer.de
The principle is ...
  1. you start Google Earth, navigate to the track you want to add, move the cursor to the place a start / stop trigger should be placed, and read out latitude & longitude.
  2. Afterwards, you open the Excel file above, and navigate to the 'Manual Data' page. You will see some predefined tracks with each line representing a POI or trigger. Add a row, fill in the details including the latitude / longitude written down before.
  3. Change back to the README tab and press the button "Start the VBA macro "CalculateExportData (0)" for export of manual data only"
  4. If all is fine, this will generate a LapTimerPoiDB.pdb file you will finally synchronize to your Palm using HotSync.
Please note that you will not see any triggers in the Triggers list as this list only shows triggers defined within the PalmOS application. You can get an indication if the triggers arrived by selecting Data->Statistics... from the menu. This will show the number of triggers loaded.

Please let me know if you need assistance anywhere.
