Cases with tripod mounts.

Post by hms »

Most circuits I use will not allow anything to be mounted by sucker mounts.
For my bullet cam I have a manfrotto super clamp mount that clamps to the roll bar, and the camera mounts to that.

Does anyone know of any iPhone4 case that includes a thread for mounting to a tripod.

There is the glif:
http://www.studioneat.com/products/glif-for-iphone-4
I wouldn't trust it as it only holds two sides of the phone by friction.

Opteka:

would seem a possible especially at that price, but they want nearly £40 to ship it to the UK!

Optrix have no plans for a tripod fitment for their case.

Anyone have any other options, or do I have to fabricate something myself?

Their perfect new iPads could get scratched, dented, smashed or broken with scary ease. For all these conscientious owners and others who simply want their iPads snug and safe and easy to carry around, these wonderful accessories called iPad skins or ipad 3 cases are a must!

I just thought I would let you know I found this case online as a possible option: http://www.diffcase.com/DiffCase-Order- ... stand.html
Works out at £30 delivered to UK. I will let you know what I think when it arrives.

I'm getting the new Phocus case. Looks good, it is made by the company that came up with the Owle Bubo, but this one is composite so it is a lot lighter and more compact, and half the price. I assume that you can get by with the case itself and no add-on lens for motorsports.

I bought me Optrix Motorsport edition for my iPhone 4 in October and got a tripod mount with it. The problem is that you have to have the camera in the case then and no way to charge the phone or attach external (3,5mm) mic.

Also have the Snapmount which works well. I am awaiting the iPhone 5 Snapmount or are there any other products out there?

Manfrotto do the KlYP
For the 4/4s about £15.
Lightweight case, can use s small charging lead when case is in use.
Case in two parts, put phone in larger part, then slide over remaining part of case.
Case seems flimsy by itself, but stiffens up when phone inserted.likewise clasp seems flimsy, just a hook type catch, but it works. If it fails, would not be too difficult to bodge a different closure.
The case comes with two adaptors, one a tripod mount, the second a light mount. (The light comes in a seperate kit) On the long sides of the case, there are slots at either end to allow fitting of the adaptors. I used the tripod adaptor at one end and the other adaptor at the other so there are two points of contact on the camera arm.
It all seemed to work, and if problems show themselves in the future, the KLYP could be glued/stuck/fixed/bodged to work.
I'll post video shot by the mount and photo's of the fitting in due course.

Anyone know if you can attach a GoPro mount to this?

As stated UK tracks have all but banned suction mounts so I'm trying to find a GoPro iPhone holder but no one makes them!
