None suction mount

Post by rscliofan »

Ok so I found a UK supplier of the ram mound adhesive mount.

I've ordered that now.

What is your experience with it and can you send a link? Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply Harry.

I used anymount.co.uk but I no longer think they trade

I went with

The adhesive mount with 1" ball
Then the short arm
1" ball diamond base
And iPhone 4S cradle

I am massively impressed I have to say. The mount is very, very solid and never been questioned on track.

You get no shake even with a stuff chassis setup and running apex's.

I was so impressed I went out and bought a second iPhone to use as a multicam and second mount for it as above.

Is that the Ram Mount RAP-B-378U, Ram Mount Flex Adhesive Base with 1-Inch Ball, Black? I'm looking for something less flexible than a suction cup mount, but I'm still reluctant to glue something to the windshield. Glue exposed to sunlight, except for the glue that manufacturers use to glue rear view mirrors, tends to fail. I've never had much success with after market kits to reattach rear view mirrors that did fall off.

Sorry I didn't get a notification until now!

Yes that's the one. I have two on the car for use with multicam and don't even notice they are there.

It's better than the suction cup but there is still a little flex in the ball/base of the flex adhesive base because it's completely made of plastic.

Mine is solid with next to zero flex from experience and certainly not noticeable on the videos.

You can also get it in metal form but you add weight which may result in movement hence me going plastic.
