Karting iPhone mount

Post by cyril94440 »

Hello ,
I've just receive my Dual XGPS 150 , and I am planning to use it on a karting.
But I don't know how to mount it, do you ?

What about just tying it to the chassis using the wrist belt included?

As long as you have an external GPS, you may wear it in your pocket - best using some case to make sure you do not touch the screen. As an alternative, choose any bicycle / motorbike mount?

Oh, yes, another option is to use a helm mount - using the Optrix HD / XD case: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vC-YHumL ... e=youtu.be

The most important for me is to see my lap times in real time !!!
Optrix is not avaiable for the iPhone 5 yet.
I think I will try an arm band on the steering wheel, but last time I tried it was too large :(

And just a little question, is harrys laptimer working in background ? (I have read so many answers !)

If you were asking how to mount the XGPS150 on a Kart: well, in the above video I simply wore it like a watch with the supplied velcro and an additional safety pin.

This iPhone/ iPod mount has worked great for my soapbox. Maybe you could adapt it for your kart: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1019
