Speedometer jumps despite external XGPS150 with 5Hz

Post by frigo1966 »

Is that jump of the speedometer with using the XGPS150 at 5Hz normal or what can I do?

here the link to the overlay Video:

here are the links to the files:

hlptr file: http://www.r-frigger.de/Harry/LapTimer- ... 745.hlptrl
vbo file: http://www.r-frigger.de/Harry/LapTimer- ... 115745.vbo
csv file: http://www.r-frigger.de/Harry/LapTimerGPSRecDB.csv

I also had the problem in some laps that the recording did not end when passing the stop trigger Gantry.

Hallo Rainer,

The GPS speed looks good in the export files. As you had an OBD sensor connected, the overlay uses this OBD speed(!) for the display. This has been a frequent request for v15. Two observations for your OBD connection: firstly, it seem you need to raise the max RPM setting get the display right (you have it set to 7000U/min while max power is developed at 7100U/min). In case you have adjusted it that way to get the shift flash (Schaltblitz) right, reduce the Shift Flash setting to e.g. 90% (of max RPM). Looking into the OBD behavior it seems the connection is disturbed. I had reports that using BT (Dual) and Wifi (Kiwi) at the same time generates such issues but didn't test it myself. Please check your WLAN settings according to PLX's recommendation:
It has come to our attention that some customers have issues connecting to the Kiwi Wifi when using an iPhone 4/4S, iPad, and iPad 2.
To resolve this issue, please configure the PLXDevices network settings as below:

IP Address: 192.168.0.11
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.0.10

The Router field is required for a connection to be established to the Kiwi Wifi. Wifi bars will be visible in the top-left corner after the iPhone has connected. If the Router field is missing, no network connection will be established.
In addition, please make sure you do not have other Wifi devices active in your car (that's a problem I had when 2 iPhone connected to the Kiwi at the same time).

P.S. Moved that thread to Accessories / OBD

Question: did you use the KiwiWifi or a different OBD?

Although they write it is not a cheap copy of the KiwiWifi, it is not the KiwiWifi. Hope the bad update rate of your OBD is not due to this. What about the settings, have they been set like recommended? Any other Wifi devices in your car?

Maybe it makes sense to run a test with the original Kiwi OBD dongle from someone meeting you at the Ring?

yes the Wifi setting is as you propose and the OBD Hardware will appear under sensors.

IP Address: 192.168.0.11
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.0.10

No there is no other Wifi device in my car.

But next time i will tes the original Kiwi OBD dongle.

Thanks Rainer
