Dual OBD Sensors

Post by Bembel Motorsport »

Hi

I am using HLT with ScanTool OBDLink und XGPS.
Addtionaly I woul like to connect my Arduino through an HC-05 bluetooth module as an custom OBD sensor to be able to transfer som data like oil temperature and pressure from the Arduino to HLT. Its not important to display these values during driving, only logging is of intrest.

Is the App able to run two OBD sensors in parallel?
Is it possible to send requests exclusively to the custom OBD sensor and how do I have to set up the App to do this?

Best regards and thank you very mouch for your help

Hello,

LapTimer connects to one or more (TPMS) sensors of a specific type at a time only. So a combination of the OBDLink plus a custom device is not supported.

What can be done is enhancing your custom board in a way it connects to the OBDLink itself (ie implement a full ELM327 dialog), join it with your data, and queue all of this into LapTimer using a custom integration. For the last step, you will need to join the developer program and define some custom protocol for LapTimer communication. LapTimer will not be connected to the OBDLink in this scenario.

Some effort but an interesting solution. :-)

Hello Harry

Thank you for your fast reply.
I will try top find a solution to add the data from the arduino to the OBD bus.
If I geht it working I will come back to you for the next steps.

May take some time (months :-)).

Best regards
