Unable to connect to Custom BTLE OBD

Post by redeemer »

My phone is iPhone XR iOS 12.2, HLP is Grand Prix v22.1.4 - Nov 28 2018
I bought a BTLE OBD but can't connect to HLP
This OBD works fine under an app called Auto Doctor.

I tried to read the UUID with LightBlue and filled in the HLP expert settings but it didn't work.
I tried both FFU0 UUID and DD4C3E8E-xxx UUID not working properly.

The following is the HLP settings, tried two UUIDs
Name = Viecar
UUID = FFF0 or DD4C3E8E-xxx
Read UUID = FFF1
Write UUID = FFF2

After entering the sensor list, Custom BTLE OBDis “searching” first, and after a while it is “not connected”.
Is that one of my steps wrong?
I tried killing Auto Doctor and LightBlue, but it didn't work.

Hello,

Three potential reasons a search is not successful:

1) the adapter is connected to another app and doesn't accept further connects ‣ kill all background apps
2) BT is not enabled at all
3) the name set in LapTimer's Custom OBD BTLE Adapter is not a precise substring of the name advertised ‣ trim any blanks, re-check upper/lower case

I have the same issue with a similar device ("Viecar"). It works fine with other apps, but I can't connect to it in the laptimer.

I feel that I have tried all possible combinations of UUIDs. Can anyone confirm the right values in the settings?
Should the ELM327 Type be Request/Reply or Automatic replies?

Peripheral Name: Viecar
Service UUIS, Read UUID and Write UUID should be?
