You need to check if your R6 is OBD II compliant at all. Contact your OBD adapter manufacturer for more help.

I bought the OBD recommended - OBDLink LX BT. Can these be used on motorcycles or just cars? One more question, if I am using a GoPro for video and an external XGPS sensor, can I have the Android phone tucked inside my suit?

The OBDLink works with LapTimer. Compatibility between adapter and vehicle depends on the car's or motorbike's OBD II compatibility.

You can place the smartphone in a safe place like a glove box when adding an external GPS. You can't put it into your suit as the app needs to be active (screen on). The cloth / leather will generate touch events.

But please take care you start "small". Handling multiple accessory at once can get challenging.
