When I overlayed the video, the OBDlink data gets removed. What is interesting is that it shows the data for a split second at the start of the lap then it goes to 0.
How do I overlay the video and get the OBDlink data to display.
Is there a way to check if the data is actually there?

Yes, select the lap from Lap List and scroll to Data Recordings. Press Preview to enter Data Recordings and select Charts. The later pages are OBD data like RPM, the speed chart should show a solid line for GPS speed and a dotted line for OBD speed.

yes! thank you.
the data is there.
how do I get it to show on overlay video?
it shows up for a second at the start of the video (crossing the start/finish line) and then it shows 0 information for the entire lap.

Please make sure you have the OBD gauges selected in Overlay Configuration: start overlay by pressing Overlay in Lap Details. Swipe to second page (iOS) or scroll down (Android) to see the controls which allows selection of No OBD, Standard OBD or Extended OBD gauges (GrandPrix).

Following you steps, I do see my OBD data, but there are drops to 0 in there. I'm using the OBDLink MX WiFi. When I overlay, I see the throttle and RPM, but at times the data is frozen and doesn't update, or it just goes to 0, then few seconds later it is working again. Not consistent at all.
Is there a way to fix this? Otherwise it is really useless.

Please check for disturbing WiFi and Bluetooth sources first. Both use the same frequencies so a BT in car devices in discover mode can have an impact on WiFi too. The other source for issues are some incompatibilities between car and adapter. To troubleshoot this in depth, you need to go through the "debugging OB connections" FAQ here on the forum. For non CAN cars, I have seen issues with Adaptive Timing frequently. Try setting this Expert Setting to Enabled instead of Optimized. Please reconnect again to test.

P.S. In town, WiFi disturbances are a big problem, it will be better on track.
