Automatic adapter problems

Post by nbJosh »

automatic adapter connects and communicates with Lap timer, however I always get a ODB update rate warning.

when looking at the real time engine readouts, I am getting a RED 0Hz update frequency, and only intermittently get a volt reading, no other stats update, and the Automatic OBD interface appears to come and go . I have tried on 2 phones from my selection, both my iPhone 6 running iOS 9 Beta 4 and iPhone 4s running iOS 8

Hi,

Please check the thread viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3143 first to make sure you have the latest firmware installed. "Coming and Going" usually means the dialog is not working correctly and LapTimer resets the connection to give it another try.

Please check the linked thread again. It shows a Sensor Information dialog. Please create a snapshot like this and post it here.

O.k., so the firmware looks fine. From the PIDs listed I can see communication has some problems... Only the initialization messages and some basic PIDs work. To understand which request is actually causing the drop of connection, please follow the instructions in viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1500 to generate a log. Using this, I will either add a fix or contact Automatic to fix a problem on their side.

Any update on the OBD Buddy version that supports Automatic gen 2? I am having the same issues (0Hz update rate) with latest versions of both Automatic and LapTimer GP. If it makes a difference, this is on a 2008 Porsche C4S. Thanks.

I'm having the same update issue too once I upgraded from .99 to .108.

So it Wortes for .99 and doesn't for .108?

The authorization issue is fixed for the latest Buddy version.
