Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer
Hi
Nick from Automatic here. I'm still catching up on this - will report back later when I have a grasp on the situation and get this resolved.
Thanks,
Nick.

Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer
Some updates - after several FW revisions (1.111 now), adapter seems to link up! However, the refresh rate is not very consistent. Sometimes on a blue moon I'll hit 10Hz, most other times it hovers around 0-1Hz, which causes LapTimer to throw warnings about the update rate. Anything I can do to further diagnose and/or provide debug info?
GPS Buddy also appears to be working correctly now with the new auth url. Thanks!

Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer
Hi,
For the Automatic you should get this 10 Hz update rate as it replies with cached values for slower busses. So if it drops to 0, there is a problem with the communication. You may log the OBD dialog using Buddy (see FAQ on Debugging OBD Connections). I assume the EVO VIII has no CAN bus, so please apply the workaround for LapTimer's handling of Non CAN vehicles posted in one of the other two Automatic threads.

Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer
I just sent you a log, hopefully it has something useful in it! I did notice with last week's release that it connects much better, only occasionally hitting the dreaded 0Hz issue, and a restart of LapTimer usually fixes it. However, the refresh rate seems to max out around 6-7Hz.
EDIT: Just to confirm, I did apply the non-CAN bus fixes. Sequential Requests (BT1) is on, and multi-CAN is off.

Strange, working great here. Have you tried selecting some other OBD adapter, shutting down HLT, then re-adding it?Henry_Au wrote:Any update re Automatic and HLT GP.. it is driving me crazy

Away from the car, open iPhone settings, open Bluetooth, touch the circled i on the line for the Automatic adapter and touch 'Forget this Device' and confirm. You might also want to turn off Bluetooth and reboot too. Then you can go through the procedure to connect the device again.I can not re add it it connects automatically..
