Problem

Post by Slimshadow »

Hi, Sorry if this has already been asked. I followed Harry's suggestion & purchased the XGPS160. I have it connected to my iphone 6 and working via bluetooth (I didn't install the companion app). I purchased the Grand Prix Edition app and installed it. I followed the directions on connection the 160 to the app & it showed up in the sensor list & connected. After powering off the 160, the app will not find the 160. I have verified that the device is connected to my phone & it is. I have tried shutting down the app & reopening, tried rebooting the phone & device, nothing I do seems to work, I even tried turning off the GPS on the phone to the app in settings, nothing...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Greg

Please restart the phone so the Bluetooth stack is reset. Unpair / Re-Pair the Dual. Send LapTimer to background and foreground it again to trigger a new sensor detection. I assume this is some setting issue, I'm not aware of a general issue.

Question: what OS version is this? The BT/Battery icon in the top right looks different to what I see.

Hi Harry,
I am using IOS ver. 9.2 It just updated the other night.
Ok, I did what you asked & it did reconnect to the 160 however, when I turned the 160 off & back on, the app never saw the 160 again even though my bluetooth did reconnect.
Do you think this this an issue with the latest IOS update?

No, I have the same combination and see no issues. You can trigger a new connection attempt by pressing the home button while in LapTimer (back to springboard) and press the LapTimer icon to pull it forward again.

Any idea why you have a second battery symbol next to the Bluetooth icon in the top right? Any tool installed?

Yeah, I tried that too...
It's my bluetooth headset.

Try removing it? Maybe some type of conflict? Just a wild guess, multiple BT devices should actually be no issue. And please make sure accessories are enabled (as expected): LapTimer ‣ Administration ‣ Settings ‣ Expert Settings ‣ Accessory Tweaks / Use Accessories ‣ ON

Yeah, I disconnected the BT headset & it connected. I'll let you know if I have the same problem again.

iOS may think that the XGPS160 is also a headset and won't connect two. IIRC, I've seen 'bluetooth headseat' during the pairing process before it recognizes the specific device.

I have seen this too but thought it was a kind of default before the actual device type is identified.

So, after more experimenting today, I realized that I can't have any other BT device connected, even my radar detector.
I had it connected to the 160, turned back on my radar & it lost communication from the app.
