Nexus 7 Tablet + XGPS160. Consistently inconsistent.

Post by Transition »

I have a nexus 7 tablet mounted in my car and i'm using a Dual XGPS160 as my external GPS device. I'm connecting the XGPS160 to the android with the use of a helper app that seems to work ok. I can open HLT and i'll see in the GPS screen that the refresh rate is 10hz - perfect. Everything seems like we should be good right? Not so.

The problem is probably 80% of the time HLT will not start recording laps when i go onto track. There is a flashing pause/checkered flag icon that seems to haunt me. Normally if i do not use the external GPS HLT will work just fine albeit at a 1hz resolution. Why is it so incredibly inconsistent using the XGPS160 and more important what is wrong????

Thanks!

Please check viewtopic.php?t=2463 and get rid of the helper app. Instead, please connect the Dual directly.

Followup. It was 100% reliable on my last track visit. Worked fantastic! Thanks Harry!
