4 Hz rate with Emprum GPS on Iphone 5S

Post by cgroppi »

Hi,

Since upgrading my Iphone 4 to a 5S, I've only been able to get ~4Hz update rates with Laptimer. I'm using an apple brand lightning to 30 pin adapter. I see rates between 3.5 and 4.3 Hz. Is this just a penalty of the adapter cable? I would get 4.5Hz or higher reliably with the iphone 4. Is there anything I can do to improve the rate?

I'd suggest to contact Roger from Emprum. I have not seen "4 Hz problems" so far, so I'd guess a restart of the 5S and turning off any other background GPS app will fix this ;-)

cgroppi,

Try airplane mode and if that doesn't help, turn location services off in the Settings/privacy menu. HLT should still be able to access the Emprum with Location Services off. You can safely ignore the warning about location services being off when you start HLT, in my experience anyway.
