Turn Off IPAD GPS when using XGPS150a

Post by dcampbell »

Sorry if this has been asked and answered already I tried a search first.

If I am using an external GPS such as the XGPS150a can I turn off iPad location services?

Thanks,

I don't have an iPad...but it works on an iPhone. It's not necessary though. Check the bars on top of Laptimer. If the satellites logo has an additional yellow star, Laptimer is connected to an additional GPS device. If there is no star, it's the internal sensor.

Yes, not necessary. LapTimer disables the internal chip when it connects to an external GPS.

My experience with an iPod is that HLT works better if Location Services is turned off. You don't want Location Services integrating Wi-Fi and cell phone tower triangulation data into your GPS data.
