The only reason to reduce the update rate below 10 Hz is when you observe bandwidth problems from other Bluetooth connections.

Hi Harry,

Is the Dual's compatibility issue with the latest iOS still happening? Just considering to check my Bad Elf for either Dual or VBOX,

Regards,

Hello! I’ve been linking for a while and r gently decided to register to ask my question. I currently have an iPhone 6s+ and Gp with ver 21.1. While I thought the phone was good enough, a fellow on the R3 forums mentioned he used a dual xgps150. Seeing as the 160 is rated at 10 hz versus 5 on the 150, I was planning on purchasing that instead, but read the part about current issues between iOS and the 160. Is this still the case? Any resolution in sight? I read one of the more recent posts stating you are waiting on a reply from ththe dual technician. I also considered the Push smart gauge a few months ago but just read on here that it seems there is no more support. Any other suggestions for a gps/logger? I would like 10 hz or more if possible, but I don’t want to spend too much time messing around with it.

I think I need to remove the disclaimer on the compatibility page. If I remember right, the firmware version “2.4.5" / "3.4.5” (depends on model) fixed the problems discusses. You may want to search the forum, some users replied the above firmware version fixes the issues observed.

I can also confirm the dual 160 is working at 10hz with the newest firmware without issues.

Maybe relevant for some: my jailbroken iPhone 7+ (11.1.2) will not properly connect to the XGPS160, it shows as connected under BlueTooth preferences, yet neither HLT or the Dual App can detect it. If I restart non-jailbroken, everything works flawlessly.
