I'd wait a few days. Sounds like 7.1.2 will be available soon. Got another confirmation today the issue will be fixed with this version.

A copy of the old firmware is not sufficient. You also need device specific information from when the old firmware was installed. That's because a firmware installation must be verified. Apple won't verify an older firmware version. You need to do something very similar to jail breaking to back date firmware.

That is not correct.
To downgrade is fairly easy, depending on two things: device model and some preparations: iPhone 3GS (with newer boot roms from around Sep 2009 onward) to 4 or 4S. Later models do not work here. Second thing is the SHSH-Blob that you need to have "recorded" during a (optionally simulated) restore of the very device you want to downgrade to the very version you want to downgrade to.
The firmware itself can be completely unmodified.

However, unless you knew this already, you likely don't have the SHSH-blobs, and thus, you will not be able to downgrade. Unless you're using and older iPhone pre 3GS (old boot rom).

Yeah, a bit of nitpicking. But everyone likes a smart-ass, right? ;-)

7.1.2 released today, I'll be VERY interested to see if this has fixed this problem.

I have just installed iOS7.1.2 on my 5S test device - and it seems the issue is fixed! The test I ran are certainly limited so far, but everything I have tried worked fine. I tested the combined use of BT1 and XGPS160 - which has been a near-no-go before. One of the devices did not deliver data almost always, sometimes it has been only one that appeared dead. I checked connecting the devices in different orders and sending back the app to background, waiting, and pulling it forward after half a minute - no issues.

Please feel free to report on your experience. So far I'm happy (again)!

The update was released today in US. Does this fix the issue multiple bluetooth interfaces, e.g. with GPS and OBD?

Does this fix both iPhone and IPod Touch use?

Merged your post into this thread (which should answer the question).
