LapTimer Standard and Professional v13.1

Post by Harry »

Hi,

Due to some problems with iOS3.1.3 devices, I've submitted version 13.1 already. I expect it to be available by the end of next week.

Changes in v13.1:
  • Allow seperate start and stop trigger in the same position to make forward / backward tracks possible
  • Enabled HD Video for iPads and iPad2s
  • Added RPM view (Speedo while OBD is connected)
  • Fixed problem with character encoding in Video overlaying
  • Fixed the problem that crashed v13 on iOS3.1.3 devices
  • Added speed unit to digital display in Speed and RPM View
  • Added "overlay without time" function for the video overlay
  • Show Overlay button as long as device support video overlaying

Yes it does. Please note that LapTimer Trainer v13.x will have most of the functionality of LapTimer Professional soon. Other than LapTimer Professional it will have full iPad support. Currently it is for data analysis only (no acquisition) so there is no easy solution in case you want to run LapTimer immediately. A good path is probably to start with LapTimer Standard and get LapTimer Trainer once v13 gets available. You may purchase the Trainer version today as it will be raised in price once the additional functionality is available. The upgrade from v12.1 to v13.x will be free of charge.

Please read this announcement http://www.gps-laptimer-forum.de/viewto ... ?f=11&t=16 to get the full story.

Dear friends of LapTimer,

It seems version 13 becomes a never ending story. Again, I had started v14 development, but received some mails on problems with 13.3 on devices with iOS <4.2 recently. As I still offer 3.1.3 support, I need to double test every new version. In this case, I missed one problem which led to crashes using older iOSes.

To make a long story short, I've just submitted v13.4 (which actually should be 13.3.1). It includes the following changes:
  • Improved status calculation for Track Sets
  • Day / Night skin added, automatically changes between high contrast and black
  • Changed units on RPM plate (Speedo) to show multiples of 1000
  • All values during overlay creation are interpolated now
  • Fixed a minor bug in KML export (ampersands)
  • Fixed a severe bug / crash that occurs with iOS < 4.2
  • Enabled full width video overlays on 4th gen iPods
I hope it is stable now.

Harry,

I'm new here, i purchaced the App, for my IPAD2 and have the following questions:

1. Ipad has 2 camera's, is it possible to have the choice in the next version (front or rear camera) ?
2. The overlay data in 13.1 is small and not in the corners but in the middle of the left side of the screen, preset setting of the Iphone i guess

Regrads, Carlo

Hi and welcome,

On #1: The front side cam does not deliver HD, you are aware? I have currently no plans to support it.
On #2: Will check, I do not have a iPad2 to test yet. In case you would like to early test v14 on iPad2, please send a note to LapTimer@gmx.de using the Contact button. Please add a note on beta registration. Beta testing is not scheduled yet.
