It's out for iOS. Hurrah!

Thanks for bringing back the total g series chart and fixing the yaw rate. It looks very nice on an iPad Mini.

Yes, you needed to wait a bit longer... But I hope the G-G comes now with the best of two world. :-)

Hi Harry,

Do you mind elaborate a little more on this?

- Real time video overlays, default operation is Play instead of Overlay

Thank you

Thank you
After recording, LapTimer has stored data (GPS, IMU, OBD) and video. While v19 showed a preview of the overlaid video during recording (Video View), you needed to overlay the video with data before watching it for analysis. This lengthy process is named "Overlaying" and creates a new video with gauges included. LapTimer v20 adds a new feature here: it comes with a specialized video player showing the raw video with gauges overlaid in real time. Actually it is similar to the live preview, but features random access including display of min / max speeds etc. So to analyze a lap, you will not Overlay the video first, but you will instantly "Play" it without generating a physically overlaid video first. The later is still available but named "Export" now. It is required to distribute the overlaid video to youtube etc.

Hi Harry,

Thanks for the explanation. So if I am recording with GoPro, I will still need to overlay the data manually?

For GoPro recorded video, you need to copy it to the smartphone first. Once it is there and re-linked, it can be watched just like a video recorded with the internal cam.

Update looks great. Out of interest what is the rear view mirror gadget?

That's similar to picture in picture inserts to video overlays. Instead of sliding a second video in from the side, a rear view mirror type video is shown top centered. It is slightly stretched horizontally and cropped vertically:

To get a rear view like this, you need to add the name "Rear View Mirror" to the video. Video names are used to show captions like Kamera #3 in the picture above. To name a video, select it for example in Video List. Scroll down to "PiP Name" and enter a name. When used as a PiP video, it is shown as a rear view mirror automatically.

I am really excited about the vehicle export function. Shall we create a vehicle database here in the forum?
