Once you connect an OBD adapter, the gear will be displayed in several views. This includes Speedo View and Engine View.

Harry,

Are sector squares red or green compared to :
- the best sector I ever achieved on this track ?
- the sector of the best lap I ever achieved on this track ?
- the sector of the reference lap ?
- something else ? :)

Many thx !

Hi,

it is the comparison of the current lap's sector time to the reference lap's sector time. So in case you have set the reference lap to be the best lap, green means best sector time ever. In case you have set the reference lap to be the last lap, green means you have improved in this sector compared to your last lap.

In case you want to analyze all time highs, please have a look into the Laps chart available in Data Recordings.

Harry, thank you for your answer !

Mmmmh, if my lap is made of 3 sectors, my best lap is not necessarily made of the 3 best sectors, am I right ?

True. Setting a "virtual best" lap as the reference is another feature request on my list. :-)

And what is the color behavior ?
Let's imagine the reference lap (57 seconds) is :
- sector 1 : 20 seconds
- sector 2 : 19 seconds
- sector 3 : 18 seconds

Current lap, sector 1 is 15 seconds, so square 1 remains green.
When will square 2 switch to red ?
- after the 34th second of the lap (15+19) ?
- after the 39th second of the lap (20+19) ?

I think the answer is the first case, as the analysis is made on sector itself, but I would like to be sure.

Many thx !

Sector indicators are developed like 1, 1+2, 1+2+3, 1, 1+2, etc. A sector indicator is always added once a sector is finishes. So once you complete sector 3, you will see 1+2 switching to 1+2+3. During the initial sector of the lap, you will see the last lap's results.

Understood, thank you Harry !

So my question should have been :

Let's imagine the reference lap (57 seconds) is :
- sector 1 : 20 seconds
- sector 2 : 19 seconds
- sector 3 : 18 seconds

Current lap, sector 1 is 15 seconds, so square 1 is green.
Sector 2 is 22 seconds.

Will square 2 be :
- red because 22 > 19 ?
- green because 15+22 < 20+19 ?

I think the answer is the first case, could you confirm please ?

Thank you again !

Yes, it is answer 1. Sectors are used independent from each other or overall lap considerations. The aggregated win / loss is visible in the lap gap display.
