Extended OBD II PID logging

Postby racepace » Fri Apr 07, 2017 11:41 pm

Hi,

I was recently trolling data collected by the Harry's Lap Timer Grand Prix app for our last race day and found that fuel level (012F) data wasn't available to be exported. I was hoping to analyze the information to retroactively look at our fuel usage & refueling so that we are better prepared for the next race.

In general, it would be helpful to be able to export all of the avaialble OBDII PIDs within the CSV export. Also, would it be possible to include the PID ID in the column header for clarity?

Thanks!

LapTimer requests racing relevant PIDs provided they are available for your car. While LapTimer requests fuel level, many car manufacturers decide to not make it available through the standard PID defined by the OBD II standard. Fuel level is included in export, values are between 0.0 and 1.0 (100%).

Hmm, the "FUEL" column was all zeros for the entire session. Perhaps the car doesn't offer connectivity to the fuel level via OBDII (older '03 Merc).

Feel free to delete this thread.

Also, I just learned Ford Focus RS does return TPMS readings via OBD, the PIDs are listed here:
http://www.focusrs.org/forum/18-focus-r ... e-pro.html

Are these logged? Can they be shown live? I guess some formula could even be devised to convert pressure to temperature. It is probably not linear, but some splining would be possible if enough pressure/temp combinations are known for a particular tire.

These are custom PIDs. I plan to add this to the next major release (v22, Spring 2018).

Patiently watching this item.

Would love to be able to get oil temps logged on my M3, but it looks like it is not a standard PID defined.
