Support for iPhone flash drives

Post by rrankins »

Are there any plans to support any of the flash drives available for the iPhone that connect via the lightning port (e.g., the Sandisk iXpand flash drive)?
Probably not feasible to record video directly to the flash drive, but it would be great if we could backup/transfer the raw video files from HLT to the flash drive to free up space on the iPhone storage.
The iXpand flash drive has a Share feature that you can use to share files to it (kind of like sharing to DropBox or elsewhere).
Perhaps this functionality could be implemented to share the video files to the flash drive to back them up?

Just wanted to follow up on this to see if this was at all doable (didn't see it as a feature in v21 beta announcement).
This could be a really useful feature if you have an iPhone that is low on space and you wanted to offload video files during the course of the track day when you don't have access to a computer to do so, nor decent wifi to offload any of them to the cloud.
I guess a current work-around would be to move them from Laptimer to Photos and then offload them to the iPhone flash drive using the Share feature, but it would be nicer if we move or copy them to a flash drive directly from Laptimer itself.
