Garmin Virb XE support in future?

Post by youcandoitall »

Hi Harry,

I used your rookie version for the first time on my first track event. It worked great and enhanced my first track experience tremendously even days after the event. Thank you for making this very useful app available.

Could you please consider adding integrated video overlay capability with Garmin Virb XE camera? Currently, I connect the OBDLink LX module (bluetooth version), heart rate monitor, and a Garmin watch as a remote to the camera. It's nice that all these information can overlay within the Garmin Virb environment, but I much prefer lap timing provided on your app and ability to analyze on the iphone.

I'm not a programmer, but think you might find this link to Garmin's developer site useful: http://developer.garmin.com/virb/overview/

I hope you will consider. Thanks!

Thanks for the link. It seems they opened up an API to control the Virb. Should be possible to add, but please do not expect support before Autumn.

Hi Harry,

Just coming around to follow up on possibility of you adding video capture support with the VIRB XE. Garmin is sponsoring the sports car club of america (SCCA) track events and has a large presence. I noticed several autocrossers use the VIRB XE setup.

Thanks!

Love to see support for the Garmin Virb XE. This option allows for over multi-cam support through Garmin's protocol. HLT just needs to control the master Garmin XE and the master will start/stop recording of the additional CAMs.

Please add support for the Virb XE.
I love Harry's Laptimer functions but I've moved onto Virb XE + OBD2 add-on for the simplicity of setup.

I would love to overlay Harry's Laptimer function over the garmin datalogs.
Please make this happen!
