MultiCam as rear view mirror

Post by NRGDEAD »

Hi Harry,

I decided to move our "driver's cam" to the rear window as it's probably more interesting to see how "the competition" does. ;-)

And it occurred to me that the video for this MultiCam should be flipped, so it acts like a real rear view mirror in the overlaid video. Somebody did this manually already somewhere on the forum, but I figured: Would it be possible to have an option in the MultiCam app to "Flip Video"? As you know, I sometimes tend to do have more than just one MultiCam device in use, but multiple. So it shouldn't be a general option in HLT itself, obviously. ;-)

Cheers and good night!

My Multicam Devices run iOS 6/7 at max, at the moment. It worked pretty well yesterday. Only used one, though. :-)

In the meantime...here's a nice tool for rotating and flipping on iOS. It has two modes, one of them works without reencoding by setting the orientation flag...only takes a minute:

https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/video-r ... mpt=uo%3D4

It's free but ad powered.

Bulls, can you write down the exact settings that you are using in the app? I also tried the app. When I use the mode that only modifies the orientation flag, the video is flipped correctly left-right. In HLT, however, the "mirror" view is flipped upside-down :-( And the permanent mode of the app is sooooo damn slow.

I'm pretty sure that's not about some settings but about how you originaly recorded the video. Why don't you simply mirror and flip it in the App? That way it may appear upside down there but the right way in HLT.

Why not just transfer it to your desktop and use windows live movie maker player to flip and then rotate the video and then add it back to the device?

On android video toolbox will do this

And on mac iMovie will do it.

Because the App does it without re-encoding ;-)
