Re: Lap prediction?

I think lap prediction should be calculated like this: Put all gps markers from the reference lap in a database with there unique timestamp counted from 0 at the starting line. With that data you can calculate the laptime by taking that reference timestamps plus or minus the difference in current ti...

Re: Lap prediction?

Code 60 is announced by waved flags on all posts. In the race I competed they took a complete lap to check if you did not went faster, but in theory they also could use the sectors to check if you did not went faster. In our case we could race till the startline and after that keep it steady at 60km...

Re: Lap prediction?

LapTimer gives you the gap to a reference lap while driving. E.g. in Timer View. Press Gap to see the time difference for your current position in real time.
Ok, but then you need to know the reference time and calculate it by yourself while driving...

Lap prediction?

Ok, lap prediction. This feature is used in other non phone laptimers to predict your laptime. More and more race classes use "code 60" instead of the safetycar. During this code you are not allowed to drive faster than 60km/h. This results in a certain minimum laptime. With lap prediction...

Re: Spa francochamps other start/finish location?

It worked perfectly! Laptimer recorded 320 laps on my iPhone with internal GPS. It missed only 2 start finish markers. The funny thing about the whole story is that in the race we used the "other startline" but the official timing of the race was done with the normal F1 layout. During the ...

Re: Spa francochamps other start/finish location?

As far as I know only the location of start/finish is different. And turn 1 is now the last turn ;) So turn 2 is now 1 etc etc etc.
The interval points are at the same location. (as far as I know)

Spa francochamps other start/finish location?

Hi all, As maybe some of you guys know, Spa has two start/finish lines. The first one is the GP layout but there is another line at the other side of the pits between La source and Eau Rouge. Has anybody a good working trackset for this 2nd layout? I am going to race a 24h race with this track layou...

Big speed difference with different GPS modules!

I switched from my Tomtom 1Hz cradle to a Dual GPS with 5Hz and the biggest surprise to me was the difference in speed its showing. Its understandable that with a lot more datapoints, the speed is measured better but in some corners the difference is 15km/h! So, for every one who is willing to buy a...

Re: Showing Timer screen during video recording

I was thinking about the same last weekend. It would be a great feature. In video mode its almost impossible to see your laptimes while driving.
