Re: Status of HERO5 support
Using Dashware, I was able to extract the Hero 5 gps data file. I can use it to overlay onto the GoPro video using the Dashware software as well. The gps data is embedded into the GoPro video file as a track similar to a video or audio track. It can be extracted from the video file. Looking at the d...

Re: Status of HERO5 support
Do we know what the refresh rate is on the Hero 5 GPS?
I downloaded both the Hero 5 gps data and the laptimer iphone data and it seems like the hero 5 has more data points from the GoPro built in GPS.
Is it better to use the GoPro gps data rather than iphone gps data?

Re: Improved video support
As a work around, I have used MKVToolNix to replace the audio from the resulting overlaid video with the audio track from the original Gopro video file. The resulting MKV video file has the overlaid video with the original audio track.

Re: Improved video support
No, the video was recorded with a gopro in stereo. After overlay, it is mono sound. I copied both the original video and the overlaid video to my computer and you can see the audio track is different now.

Re: Improved video support
Android or iOS? LapTimer passes through the audio track, never handled that specifically. Actually there is not even a decoding / encoding cycle like for video. - Harry This is on iOS on my iPhone 7. The audio is actually changed from Stereo to Mono after overlay. I do have two videos, one main and...

Re: Improved video support
Hello,
I also noticed that if the input video is stereo audio, Lap Timer will always produce a reduced bitrate mono audio track. Is there any way to maintain the stereo sound of the input video file?

Re: Status of HERO5 support
Did some basic testing the other day with the new Hero 5 Black. Using the Hero 4 Black option it seemed to start and stop recording just fine when I started and stopped recording with HLT. Only thing that didn't seem to work was importing the video from the Hero 5 directly into Laptimer, although m...

Improved video support
I was wondering if we could get improved video support for iPhone? The new iphones can record at 4K and other modes such as 120fps. Can we enable these to work with iPhone? Also, when doing overlay of videos from GoPro, I've noticed that it reduces the bitrate of the video and also reduces framerate...

Re: Status of HERO5 support
I've used the GoPro 5 Black on a few track days. It seems to work the same as the GoPro 4. I just set it up with the same settings as Hero 4. Triggering the start of recording doesn't always work. I think this is the same issue as with the Hero 4 where the Gopro wifi will go into "sleep" m...
