Re: first time user

This is all you need for your first drive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NS09uYuxRXU&feature=youtu.be Once it works, you may try the video option. It is similar to what is shown in the Quick Start: instead of using the Timer view shown in the video, press the Video button. You do not need to pr...

Re: OBD Update Rates with KiwiWifi

These are Hz, not GHz :-) 1 Hz means you get one complete set of OBD values per second. That matches the internal GPS but is not particularly much. Although a branded OBD is probably a little better optimized, the main bottleneck is the diagnostic gateway (OBD) built into your 996. Check my first po...

Re: OBD readout on overlay

LapTimer's overlay is not fully customizable. Things you can change are available as a dialog named "Overlay Configuration" you get when pressing the "Overlay" button in Lap Details.

Re: oil temperature not recorded

Yes, as long as GPS speed is lower than 255km/h. OBD speed is limited to that value.

Re: Newbie about cretion of custom (personal) track without

For me, sector times are more on benchmarking than on improving individual corners. Optimizing corners can be done much better using the graphs and gap calculations in LapTimer's Data Recordings. A further, very good indicator for the advantage a certain line in corners has, is to watch the max spee...

Re: How To Purchase Rookie > Petrolhead > Grand Prix upgrade

I need to add a special case here: For users who originally purchased both Trainer and one of the iPhone versions, please just install LapTimer Grand Prix on all your devices (both iPad and iPhone), migrate your data from the old editions to the new GP installation if you want, and delete the old iP...

Re: In App upgrade on iPhone not reflected on iPad

Hi, That is actually something one may name an "anachronism". As you had both Professional and Trainer and both apps are for both iPhone and iPad now, you can completely migrate to the Trainer / Grand Prix copy. The whole Pro + Upgrade just doubles the functionality you get from the "...

Re: oil temperature not recorded

Most probably your car's OBD diagnostic gateway does not provide oil temperature (EOT, 0x015c). Same for my car by the way... As this PID seems to be not mandatory for emission testing, many manufacturers do not pass it on from their bus. You may check the OBD sensor's technical information to see w...

Re: Any dongles adapters that work with HLT and accept CAN

Actually all dongles I know (and listed on www.gps-laptimer.de/Compatibility.html) support CAN access. This is done both by the car bus technology independent OBD standard, and by accessing CAN frames directly. As LapTimer accesses the car bus using OBD compliant PID requests only (at least in publi...
