Re: first time user

TomTom should work OK without tweaks. (Not used tomtom so cannot say for sure.) The only tweaks that I have ever needed to do is the corridor detection width. If you have POI's that are close then you might get a mistrigger. Narrowing the detecton width should avoid this. See: http://www.gps-laptime...

Re: first time user

It will record the whole session, although when you overlay the graphics onto the video, it does that on a single lap basis. Generally best, to conserve memory, to datalog only in the morning whilst you learn the track, then video in the afternoon. Are you going to Abingdon on the 12th by any chance...

Re: Newbie about cretion of custom (personal) track without

Just my 5 cents, I more an expert on programming than on driving ;-) - Harry Don't do yourself down Harry, we've all seen video of you driving your office desk around the 'ring! Bloody good programmer too! Regarding the split positions, it's the little things that matter, enough of the little thing...

Re: Any dongles adapters that work with HLT and accept CAN

Does your vehicle have an OBDII socket? From your message sound as though you have a new or piggyback ECU. OBD standards put the Canbus on pins 6 (CAN high) and 14 (CAN low) of the OBD connector. Don't know if you can just connect these two wires to an OBDII connector make it work though! If you hav...

Re: Newbie about cretion of custom (personal) track without

RSCliofan, nice piece of work. Placement of splits may be worth talking about. My track toy is a knackered old 1.6 athsmatic MX5, no speed on straights but can worry and Elise on corners. Therefore how I attack corners is key for a fast time. I therefore tend to place splits on the approach to and s...

Re: In App upgrade on iPhone not reflected on iPad

I've had problems also. Have just been billed by apple for an upgrade to Grand Prix from Petrolhead. I had Petrolhead on my iPhone and trainer on the iPad I cannot remember which, but one upgrade worked the other didn't! I went through the in app purchase/upgrade routine thinking this would pull the...

Re: Dual XGPS150A vs. Emprum Ultimate

GPP, A mechanic around here calls packs of those things "Skittles", because they come in all colors and are eventually spread out all over the track, and in the grass, and... . Very funny! At least it shows the drivers are trying! Only been on an agricultural trip a couple of times, both ...

Re: Using LapTimer to Improve Times

If a circuit has enough POI's then you can use sector times to compare. But then I havae trouble remembering what I did on each lap to make me faster/slower on each sector!

Re: Dual XGPS150A vs. Emprum Ultimate

Much thanks for your responses! I'll take direct info, tangential info, any info I can get. But, tell me, you have your IPhone in the glove compartment? What IS the function of the IPhone? I realize it contains the Harry's Lap Timer app, but it can be in the glove compartment? I am going to use a G...
