Please either use the helper app and do not connect LapTimer directly (this will let LapTimer access Android's location service - which receives mocked data), or kill the helper app and connect the qstarz directly. I'm having the same issue as Boom Spoon. I have a Galaxy S3 running 4.4.2 and am getting ~4Hz (says 5 Hz like screenshot above) from the Qstarz 818XT when directly connected through the app however when I use a BT mock provider I get the full 10 Hz. Ok cool. I will be using it on a 2005 Honda S2000 and only 06+ has CAN bus so should be good there. Video will be recorded with a GoPro so shouldn't have load from there.

Thanks for the quick reply Harry. I think I understand what you are saying about the update rates. I could have been pulling only 1 PID (RPM) when I was looking at the Torque data and 4-5 PIDs on HLT. It seems like the most reliable solution would be to just switch over to Android (Galaxy S3).
