Re: First Apple Certified 5 Hz GPS

Hi, Just another update on the UltiMate / LapTimer integration. We have a prototype up and running now. It connects the Emprum UltiMate GPS using NMEA (direct access) and delivers up to 5 Hz update rates without jailbreak! The integration will be available with the next release of LapTimer (either 1...

Re: roqyBT4 and Bluetooth OBDs!

Hi,

Have you updated to version 14.1 of LapTimer? It is available since yesterday.

Re: two questions, usuing laptimer abroad and overlay/video

Hi, In case you allow LapTimer to access the internet in Spain, there will be roaming cost. As long as you turn data roaming off (which is the default), neither LapTimer nor any other app will be able to access data services and generate costs. Location Service does not generate cost and work both i...

Re: Export gear for overlay apps (Trackvision, Dashware)

Wow, impressive installation! :-) I have been using Roqybt4 on my jailbroken iPhone to communicate with a Bluetooth OBDII device I have (OBDLINK) but it always seems to drop out after a few minutes. Can I get some more details on this? What do you mean by 'drop out' and which app do you use here? Th...

Re: OBD2 bluetooth and external GPS bluetooth

roqyBT4's functionality requires a jailbroken phone. Apps like this need to be loaded from Cydia or other sources - not App Store.

Re: Export gear for overlay apps (Trackvision, Dashware)

Hi,

You are right, export of gear is missing. Will add this in v15.

Genius Harry already implemented interpolation at frame rate (i.e. 30Hz) for Video Overlay within LapTimer. He'd expected a software like TrackVision to do this on its own

Re: Does XGPS 150 BT require jailbreak?

The XGPS150 is directly accessed using NMEA. With direct access the setting is ignored.
The Emprum needs to be tested. I'm not sure if the Emprum's data is manipulated like the internally generated GPS fixes are.
In general, I recommend using the calculated setting only when problems occur.

Re: Video recording more than one lap

Which iPhone generation did you use. For 3G and 3Gs I recommend an external sensor. In case you have this problem with a 4G, please check your mounting position. The iPhone4 should not have this kind of problems.

Re: Does XGPS 150 BT require jailbreak?

Hi,

There is an issue with the speed reported by the internal GPS sensor. It seems Apple kind of clips high speeds. This is the reason v14 has an expert setting for GPS Speed: set to 'Calculated' and LapTimer will runs its own speed calculation. ;)

Re: roqyBT4 and Bluetooth OBDs!

Hi,

roqyBT4 will simply allow LapTimer to access dongles via BT, instead of WLAN. Once connected, LapTimer should support all Elm327 compatible devices. In case you run into problems, I will try to find a solution.
