Problems with data (speed or g meter) not being correct?

Lately it seems at least one lap a day that I record with harry's lap timer gets messed up. My most recent example is an autocross I did this past weekend that I manually started and stopped the recording for the lap. However, when I overlay the data the G meter is off. It actually looks like it mig...

How to I deslect overlaying a reference lap?

I tried to look this up and saw a comment to disable reference lap in the overlap settings but I can't find that? Setting the current lap as the reference lap appears to be the only way I've found?

Re: Post Your Track Toy Here

My track toy... 1968 Chevrolet Camaro I've done the SoCal tracks, Buttonwillow, Streets of Willow Springs, Big Willow, El Toro, Auto Club Speedway and would like to do Chuckwalla and Thunderhill. http://carphotos.cardomain.com/images/0019/23/23/19063232.jpg I've been doing track days with the car si...

Re: Focus lock not working on video recording

Did IOS 8 fix this issue? I have a 5S and am having the same issues. I have the RAM mount and use it as suggested above with the suction cup at the top of the windshield and the arm oriented vertically down. It is the double ball version rather than the ratchet version. It does allow vibration which...

Re: J1939 CAN data logger compatible with Laptimer?

Hi, Thanks for pursuing this. Oddly, I do not have a good message for you. I dug into the J1939 ELM327 spec and including the above response understand the main difference between the protocols now. As written by Chris, they support the J1939 protocol and map it to the ELM327 dialect. However, this...

Re: J1939 CAN data logger compatible with Laptimer?

Hi Harry, The only other potential option I've seen is the OBDLink MX Wi-Fi which I asked about over at scantool.net on 1) if it supported J1939 and 2) if it would work with Harry's Laptimer. Link to the thread: https://www.scantool.net/forum/index.php?topic=9696.0 They responded with the following:...

Change size of the Acceleration markers in .kml files?

Hi, I finally got my car back on a track in 3 years and am trying to learn all the feature changes to laptimer since then. The lateral acceleration markers when using a .kml file in google earth have gotten much larger. Is there anyway to change the size? Old .kml file from HLT of 3 years ago. http:...

Re: J1939 CAN data logger compatible with Laptimer?

I just found a J1939 version of GoPoint's BT1A dongles: http://gopoint-technology.mybigcommerce.com/j1939-bt1a/ I will check with them if LapTimer can access it just like the other BT1 dongles. Oddly it will not work currently as it starts up using the bus specific protocol (extended). LapTimer ope...

Re: J1939 CAN data logger compatible with Laptimer?

Hi Harry, Hopefully you find this thread again. I had one other question. Is it enough to find an ELM 327 device that is J1939 compatible? In other words is the ELM 327 the language that the Lap timer app uses to talk to these devices so regardless of the car's protocol (e.g. J1939) HLT will be able...
