Re: Video Compression Artifacts

SOLVED: The bitrate multiplier setting of "2" doubled the size of the file; a setting of "3" tripled the size of the file, but I could not see any improvement in the quality of the video. So, I switched to Software processing and it was excellent, as it was last year before hardware processing was a...

Re: Video Compression Artifacts

Is the initial video bitrate controlled by the LapTimer or just the Overlay ? The initial raw videos also have smaller file sizes than videos of the same frame size and time duration from last year. Then the file size of the overlay-videos get much smaller.

I will work on your suggestions. Thanks

Video Compression Artifacts

Testing a new phone GS7 and the current version of Laptimer, I just created a video driving around my neighborhood and then added the overlay. The 1920 x 1080 overlay video has severe compression artifacts and the overlay file is less than half the size of the original video file. The overlay video ...

Remove Gear from Display

I found a post on excluding ODB PID's . . is this the method to remove specific items from the overlay display ? "Gear" is a calculated item, how can I remove it from the display ? Does running a Bluetooth ODB sensor and Bluetooth GPS device at the same time impact the accuracy or latency of GPS dat...

Re: Video always stops at 33 minutes

The 33 minute limit by itself is not a material problem. Last question. When the recording ends at 33 minutes the lap data program continues to run. Will the video overlay work OK on a video that was ended by the phone ?

Re: Video always stops at 33 minutes

33 minutes creates a 4GB file at 1920x1080. The SD Card is formatted with exFAT which is supposed to be good to 16 Exabyte. After posting my question, I tested the regular Samsung video camera and it broke long videos into 4GB segments.

Thanks

Video always stops at 33 minutes

I was testing a new phone with Laptimer. A Galaxy s7. When recording a video, it appears to be recording until I stop it, but the actual video always ends a 33.10 minutes. It shows the full time on the lap list, like 50 minutes for example, but the video itself is always ends at 33.10 minutes. I hav...

Re: Video Exposure Setting - Android

I added the photo in the original post showing an example where it would be good to auto-expose the track area rather than the full frame. If it was possible, maybe the default setting for exposure could put more weight on the bottom half of the image, since that is where "the subject" of the video ...

Video Exposure Setting - Android

On Sunny days, the blue sky and the track expose evenly in the video. On some cloudy the sky can be much brighter than the track, so with auto-exposure the track-activity is often under-exposed because the camera is averaging exposure with the brighter sky. - Your "exposure lock" setting could be us...

Transfer vehicle specs to a replacement phone ?

I am switching to a new Android phone. Is there any way to backup / restore "My Car" and other setup information to a new phone. There is a lot of detail in there. Google's cloud backup didn't do it the last time I tried. Thanks.
