Always needs internet connection when loading a track
I've had a LapTimer (GP) failure on my most recent 2 track days. Here's what I did this week, with v24.6: - used a different iPhone for LapTimer (to eliminate any historical influences) - installed LapTimer and configured settings as per what used to work - downloaded the 3 tracks in our area, one o...

Force a Join of Lap Segments
I had a track day where LapTimer kept splitting my laps into 2-5 pieces. Don't know why, GPS signal quality was very good. Maybe because I was running iOS screen recording to capture the LapTimer screen for later inclusion in a video made via RaceRender? Anyway, I've joined all the segments but ther...

Re: Question about "Storage Rate" setting
Thanks for the (as usual) thorough explanation.
Since I'm using an iPhone 6 for LapTimer data-only capture (video tracks are all externally captured on other devices), I'll set a 20 Hz rate and not worry about it.

Question about "Storage Rate" setting
Did a quick search and didn't see any discussion about this ... For the "Storage Rate" setting, the blurb warns "Do not use 20 Hz except when driving short tracks only." - what length constitutes a "short track" (or, more importantly, a NOT short track) - what about whe...

Re: Recent builds and Kiwi 3
Thanks for the response. One thing I normally do is connect an old iPhone 4S to the car's BT when running LapTimer on the iPhone 6 (it only does data capture, not video) ... I may have forgotten to do this. I was also having problems with the VBOX Sport's BT connecting to LapTimer and ultimately had...

Re: Recent builds and Kiwi 3
I recently did 8 15-20 min track sessions and found the following with LapTimer GP v23.0.5 on iOS 10 and saw the following: - lost some of the (KiWi3) OBD channels some of the time - saw many/regular drops in OBD data collection ... e.g., see the OBD speed drops to zero in the attached picture The s...

Re: Dual XGPS150a Refresh Rate @ 1Hz
Don't know about the XGPS150 units, but my XGPS160 reverts to 1 Hz with LapTimer if I turn on the logging (i.e., tell the XGPS160 to record its GPS data). Turn off logging and it returns to 10 Hz.

Re: Vbox sport new versions reduced to 10Hz
ps: my interrogation regarding external antenna performance vs. without was for use in fiberglass cars ... Somewhere on either the US or British RaceLogic sites there's a statement about adding a minimum-dimension ground-plane if using an external antenna on a non-metal car. This can be constructed...

Re: Dual XGPS 160 accuracy issues
This "plotted position on the track" accuracy was what I was referring to in my post at http://forum.gps-laptimer.de/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=5452&p=26650#p26647 For me, the "track plot" in Circuit Tools was more accurate from lap-to-lap throughout the day when using the VBOX...

Re: Vbox sport new versions reduced to 10Hz
In case you have both the XGPS and the VBOX active, there is only one option to force the use of one device: unpair the other device in your smartphone's BT settings - this will make it invisible for LapTimer As the kids would say "Du-Oh" ... so obvious (he says, somewhat red-faced). Than...
