Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer

Harry, I tried applying the settings today on my drive to work but it didn't help much. At a red light I did see the adapter spike briefly to 10Hz refresh rate on the sensor list screen (for all of a few seconds) then it quickly dropped back down to 0 again. I am not sure if it's related to the Acce...

Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer

Thank you for the quick reply! Unfortunately I have no other wireless tech or BT sources in the car, so if there is interference I'm not sure where it is coming from. I've opened up an issue on their side, will keep the thread posted.

Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer

Hello Harry, some number of updates later (both HLT and Automatic) the rate of the adapter updates has dropped again and now hovers between 0 and 1 Hz. If I remember right you said Automatic caches the data, so even with my older bus I should still get at least 2-3Hz. Is it a matter of requesting to...

Re: Automatic OBD Gen II unreliable?

I've had similar issues with my Automatic Gen II dongle. It works sometimes, doesn't work other times, and new release of firmware seem to randomly make things work/stop working with HLT. It's really frustrating to have to bug Automatic or Harry with debug logs everytime it stops working. I'm about ...

Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer

I just sent you a log, hopefully it has something useful in it! I did notice with last week's release that it connects much better, only occasionally hitting the dreaded 0Hz issue, and a restart of LapTimer usually fixes it. However, the refresh rate seems to max out around 6-7Hz. EDIT: Just to conf...

Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer

Some updates - after several FW revisions (1.111 now), adapter seems to link up! However, the refresh rate is not very consistent. Sometimes on a blue moon I'll hit 10Hz, most other times it hovers around 0-1Hz, which causes LapTimer to throw warnings about the update rate. Anything I can do to furt...

Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer

That's great news! Do you have a date for when when 19.0.9 will reach the app store? Luckily I have no track days scheduled at the moment (yet), but I would be glad to have this working before then. :)

Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer

Correct - I authorized LapTimer once, and it has never asked again. The sensor list, info page, and everything else looks identical in the older firmware. On the sensor list, it shows "Connected" but with no frequency reading. Going to the real time page shows the same Update Rate error as...

Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer

I picked up the latest 1.0.97 firmware, same behavior though.

Re: Automatic OBD can't link up with LapTimer

I tried reconnecting, it did not pick up a new firmware as far as I could tell. Though it sounds like an update is pending, based on what carramrod said.

I removed all the PID exclusions, here are shots of the error message and the OBD tweaks section. Thanks for the help!
