Sorry to jump in late on this thread but I am having the same problem.
I am using an iPhone 5 ver 7.1.1 (11DD21) HLT v18.0.22 and a Dual XGPS150.
My car is an open cockpit and I have the dual attached to one of the rear view mirrors with an unobstructed view of the sky.
