Re: Bug: extra rows of data in lap file

all my laps are affected. of the CSV files i've inspected there are an inconsistent number of errant fixes in each file. I did confirm that the datestamps from those errant fixes belong to the last session from last year at the other race track, and that the last few laps from that session are erron...

Bug: extra rows of data in lap file

i recently returned to a track i've been to before, now armed with v18 HLT. Although my lap TIMES "seem" correct, none of the charts except for speed are correct. i've identified that there are errant rows of data at each of the laps for the new session. i've attached files for both a good...

Re: [FAQ] Adjusting Calibration 'after the fact'

For motorbikes, measured lateral acceleration does not exist / is noise only. Please use the Recalculate button in Lap Details to calculate it from GPS. Harry sorry for not being clearer. yes, i am familiar with this and have been using pre-v18 HLT successfully since last spring. i have attempted t...

Re: [FAQ] Adjusting Calibration 'after the fact'

Just ran HLT v18 on a motorbike and it would appear that the lat and long accel axis are swapped. The lap times are ok but the lap map shows up as a straight line instead of the correct track circuit profile. My lineal accel values are much higher than my lateral ( not normal). Interestingly a frien...

Re: problem with Send function to share laps

This is due to the BT issue in iOS7.x You may try the new Challenge function to share your data. Just select the best lap you want to share and press the Challenge button in Lap Details many of the tracks we visit don't have wifi so would not be able to compare laps after each track session. does t...

problem with Send function to share laps

From the lap-list, I am trying to send a lap to another device, and it searches and searches but does not locate any nearby - although there are an iphone and ipad both laying right next to the sending iphone. all three are running v18 of HLT, and have Bluetooth turned on. tried sending from each, t...

Re: LapTimer v18 Beta

Thanks Harald – it’s still snowing out now :(, but our first trip of the year is planned in 3 weeks, so that will be my/our first opportunity to test on a motorbike. With the release of V18 (that allows accelerometer-based, lean-angle corrected calculation of lateral Gs), is there as much value in t...

Re: bug: lineal acceleration chart showing incorrectly

i presume that the iPhone has a 3-axis accelerometer. for automotive applications, the vertical axis is not really used (assuming the phone is layed flat, otherwise you would calibrate that out). however, for motorbikes it IS one of the two primary axis: vertical for use in lateral acceleration alon...

Re: bug: lineal acceleration chart showing incorrectly

Not sure we are on the same page... LapTimer measures acceleration using the accelerometer. Bit due to the lean angle on a motorbike lat acceleration measured is zero. So the fallback is calculating it from GPS. Harry on the exact same page. my hope was that this shortcoming would have been address...

Re: bug: lineal acceleration chart showing incorrectly

"measuring" acceleration would mean using the accelerometers - they actually measure that quantity. Using GPS coordinates requires differentiation of position (the measured quantity) and thus in my mind it is a calculation, which it appears is still the way it's being done (and therefore l...
