Re: Start / Stop video recording

LapTimer uses WiFi to control action cams. This does not allow the connection of two cams currently. But you can record footage manually with a second cam and add footage to laps recorded. In case the cam does not react to Cancel or Stop, it has disconnected during the lap. Please stop it manually. ...

Re: Lost all GPS data - except 2 laps

Hi, Make sure you have enough free space please. Data corruption is almost always due to memory shortage or a dying battery. Recovery will not work without plenty of space (say 0.5 GB) either. An avg. speed like 999mph mean the distance calculated for this lap is wrong. The cause for wrong distances...

Re: New session commenced in pits and therefore only 1 lap

It is well possible a trigger positioned on the start / finish straight is caught while driving though the pits area. This will not harm other recordings but just add an initial "lap" on top. The problem you are facing with the 36 minutes recording can have several reasons. Some of them ar...

Re: Entering Information

You can export the demo vehicle to .hvehl and edit this file on your PC using a plain text editor (not Word or something, use something like Notepad). Once everything is fine, send this file to yourself and open it in Mail on your smartphone. This will import the vehicle edited. Take care to be prec...

Re: Updated Laptimer - Entire profile and all laps deleted

Updating an app is the job of the operating system (iOS or Android). Usually, the new app is installed in a new place. Once this succeeded, all data and settings are transferred and the old copy is deleted. As written above, this is nothing an app influences but is done by the OS. So before I can he...

Re: Unwanted video zoom

Software image stabilization cuts off a border area around the frames. But, to me, the sample attached is reduced by far too much to be caused by image stabilization. You can try if image stabilization has an effect by turning it off: LapTimer ‣ Race ‣ Timer ‣ Video ‣ turn internal cam on ‣ Preview ...

Re: Unwanted video zoom

Hi,

LapTimer does not set the field of view but uses the standard selected by the smartphone manufacturer. You may try a different resolution - sometimes this changes the FoV too.

You will be approved once the second beta version is becoming available.

Re: How to get arbitrary OBD2 data logged out of Harry's Laptimer?

You can see temperatures in real time in several views. Try Analysis / Realtime / Engine first. Not all cars deliver oil temperature through OBD, so you may need to use coolant instead (which is less informative). LapTimer v22 will come with custom PID support, so you may be able to add it here. You...

Re: Obd setup question

Engine is a GrandPrix feature. Is it possible you upgraded your Petrolhead on the X or purchased the Engine feature some years ago? Throttle needs calibration (100% mark is always the highest value received) and show reasonable data once you were on full throttle for some time. In case your car does...
