Re: transferring a video to my PC
Harry, Is there a way to access the files from a PC without transferring them to library? I do endurance racing with ~90 minute stints and it takes forever to do the transfer. You also can't transfer unless the iThing has free space equal to or greater than the video, which would cause a problem if ...

Re: External Microphone Support
I'm not sure if it's on the hardware or software side...I had the mic working with the Iphone camera (but not on HLT) in January on the old iOS and HLT. However, I did not spend much time with it and may have made a mistake on the wiring or test procedure. The TRRS cable is definitely required. I di...

Re: External Microphone Support
So it appears there is some external mic support as of v17.0.5. See this thread for discussion:

Re: Overlay Video Synchronization with BT1 OBDII & XGPS150
Harry, Thanks for the prompt reply. Regarding the a/v setup: I am using an Olympus ME-52 microphone with a TRRS splitter cable. The microphone is designed for voice recording and is very sensitive. I seem to have found a good compromise of engine/tire/brake/wind noise by locating the microphone in t...

Overlay Video Synchronization with BT1 OBDII & XGPS150
Evening, I have been working to get a good A/V & DAQ setup for my upcoming track weekend. I was pleased to find that V17 supported my external microphone (Olympus ME52) and am able to get a good, clear recording with the mic in the trunk. Now that the sound is clear, it has become evident there ...

Overall accel graph; Y-axis zoom; Output Z accel;
I often look at the acceleration graphs when trying to find time at the track. The overall acceleration graphic on the track map is very useful but can't be used to compare laps. By comparing laps, I am able to tell if more net acceleration is available on any part of the track. I understand all of ...

External Microphone Support
I have a cable that allows me to connect an external mic/headset to the iThing. Voice recording and video recording with the camera app work properly with the external mic. HLT always uses the internal microphone. Thanks, Chris Cable for those who are interested: http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-M...

Re: XGPS150 5 Hz update.
A note on the driver update: The DUAL firmware update software goes through the COM ports in order and tries to update the first (COM #) device it thinks is the XGPS. In my case, it was trying to reflash the internal modem on the computer. I used Windows 7 and had to do the following (which should a...
