Although they write it is not a cheap copy of the KiwiWifi, it is not the KiwiWifi. Hope the bad update rate of your OBD is not due to this. What about the settings, have they been set like recommended? Any other Wifi devices in your car? Maybe it makes sense to run a test with the original Kiwi OB...
