I agree. I race in mountain / forest areas where GPS signal is not allway good and sometimes I've ended up the run but the stop trigger didn't fire and the app keeps on recording... I can see and play the video in the Photo App. I can create albums, copy the video on it, etc.

I have closed the Laptimer App, the Photo App and even restarted the iPad and the problem is still there...

I suspect thet the problem could be related with using an iPad 1...
